Dining Choices

Key West has a huge selection of restaurants anything from a Burger King to a French gourmet restaurant. We have narrowed down the restaurants to those who we feel consistently provide a very good dinning experience. FYI - smoking is not allowed in Florida restaurants. Ask your front desk person or concierge to make reservations for you as most of these establishments can be very busy in season (mid December - May)


La Trattoria Venezia: 
Italian/French cuisine - great food and service. On the corner of Duval and Appelrouth Lane. Fantastic daily fish specials. Reservations advised.

Café Solé:   Provencé style food, nice ambiance with an interesting menu. This restaurant has won a number of awards for appetizers and entrees. We often hear from guests that it was their best meal ever! Reservations advised.

Pisces:   Fine French Cuisine with an emphasis on seafood. The food alone is superb, but the service and luxurious ambiance create a wonderful upscale dining experience you won't soon forget. Just past Truman (US1) on Simonton Street. Reservations advisable. Tel # 294 7100

915:  A diverse menu of tastes from around the world. Tapas style dining on in a beautiful restored Duval Street building. Located at 915 Duval Street.

Michael's:  The best steaks served in Key West. Great restaurant with inside and outside dining. Fondue at the Bar. Reservations advised. Tel # 295 1300

One Duval:  Located at the Pier House, overlooking the Gulf waters, this restaurant serves wonderful food that can be enjoyed as you watch the sun set from your table. At the west end of Duval Street. Tel # 296-4600

The Cafe :  The really good vegetarian restaurant. Reservations for parties of 6 or more. 509 Southard St. Tel # 296 5515

Louie's Backyard:   Fine dining overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in an open terrace dining area and bar right on the water. Inside dining is also available. Artistic food presentation and efficient service. Located on the corner of Vernon Street and Waddell Avenue. Reservations are a must. Open for lunch and dinner.

Blue Heaven:   Eat in the yard with the chickens, cats and dogs in a great Key West ambiance, great food, great service. Each evening they have a long list of daily specials. No reservations possible. Sometimes 30+ minutes wait for table. On the corner of Petronia and Thomas in Bahama Village.

The Grand Cafe:   Located in a Victorian Mansion the Grand Cafe serves fine wines along with a varied selection of seafood and meat dishes.  Great people watching on Duval in a lovely garden-like atmosphere. Many guesthouses will be able to supply you with a coupon for a free glass of wine with your dinner.  314 Duval Street. Tel # 292 4740

Martin's:   Wonderful German food is the specialty here. Also served are a wide variety of salads and locally caught fish. Beer or Wine only. On Applerouth lane off Duval. Tel # 296 1183

Mangoes:  Great location on Duval Street - corner of Duval and Angela. Very good food, dining inside and out with good service and great ambiance. Tel # 292 4606

Latitudes on Sunset Key:  Well cooked well presented food with a wide ranging menu. Open air dining room under a canopy on the exclusive Sunset Key just across from Key West harbor side. Early reservations advisable. You need to take the ferry from the Hilton Marina, boarding passes picked up from the Hilton Hotel Concierge Desk at least 15 minutes before the ferry sails. El Siboney:  The most authentic Cuban restaurant in Key West. Don't expect fancy dining here. Cash only. On the corner of Catherine and Margaret Streets, No reservations accepted; can be as much as 30 minutes wait.

Seven Fish:  Great food with an interesting menu. Reservations advised. Only beer, wine and soda served and the restaurant is entirely nonsmoking On the corner of Olivia and Elizabeth streets. Closed on Tuesday. Tel # 296 2777

Banana Café:  Tropical French restaurant @ 1211 Duval Street. Highly recommended for lunch. Great food and service. Reservations advised.

Finnigan's Wake:  Irish Pub with imported Irish, British and American beers. If you like traditional British food cooked and served in a great pub dining room, then this is where to go. Entertainment in the bar on certain nights. Tel # 293-0222

Origami:  Located in Duval Square one block past Truman between Duval and Simonton Streets. An excellent Japanese restaurant with a large variety of sushi and cooked meals to choose from. Reservations advised. Tel # 294 0092

Half Shell Raw Bar:  Raw bar and regular menu with all entrees served with boiled potatoes, coleslaw and corn on the cob. Very casual environment, very good food. At the Historic Seaport at Margaret Street.

Alonzo (A&B Lobster House downstairs):  Right on A&B marina by the harbor, below Berlin's. Busy seafood restaurant with good menu and specials. Well cooked and served local seafood with big bar. Reasonably priced, good for lunch and dinner. Reservations cannot be made, with wait time for a table not usually more than 30 minutes. In our opinion the best mid range seafood restaurant in Key West. At the end of Front Street on the harbor.  Tel # 294-5880

Square One:  American cuisine with good ranging menu. Good reputation for food and service in a very stylish dining room. Located in Duval Square one block past Truman between Duval and Simonton Streets. Reservations advised. Tel # 296 4300

Antonia's:  Regional Italian cuisine, served in a beautiful dining room with good ambiance. Good food and service. On the 600 block of Duval street. Reservations are advised. Tel # 294 6565

Pepe's:  Eldest restaurant in Key West, on Caroline Street. Good meat and potatoes menu with the reputation for the best breakfast in Key West. Sometimes 30 minutes wait for a table - no reservations possible.

Commodore Steak House:  Good menu selection overlooking the harbor, near A&B Lobster House. Incredible views of the seaport. Tel # 294 9191

Alice's Key West:  "Where Fabulous Food and Fun Times Meet"  Extensive eclectic menu featuring Chef Alice Weingarten's "New World Fusion Confusion" cuisine.  Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.  1114 Duval St. Tel # 292-5733

Meteor Smokehouse : Get your Blues, Booze and Barbecues at the Meteor Smokehouse located next door to the famous Green Parrot bar. 404 Southard St. Tel 294 5602

El Meson de Pepe’s : Authentic Cuban food near Mallory Square. 410 Wall Street Tel # 295 2620

Upper Crust : Very good thin crust pizzas and salads. 611 Duval Street Tel # 293 8890

Caroline’s Cafe : Big salads, sandwiches and island favorites. Plus their free delivery is usually very prompt. 310 Duval Street Tel # 294 7511

Hot Tin Roof : vibrant colors indicative of the overall style of the Ocean Key Resort. The restaurant's features indoor seating for 60 and an outdoor deck overlooking Key West Harbor, accommodating up to 40 people. The restaurant's lounge, Stage Door, serves a unique selection of themed signature cocktails and is highlighted with a custom-designed mural by Key West artist Jeff Beal. Dante's : A poolside restaurant at the corner of Caroline and Grinnell streets (Conch Harbor Marina) where live music, great food, tasty drinks and party fun are served with a splash! 951 Caroline Street

5 Brothers : Have a cafe con leche or a spicy Cuban sandwich at 5 Brothers Grocery (930 Southard), a reasonably-priced locals' hang-out at the corner of Southard and Grinnell. One block away, open at 6am for an early morning coffee fix.

Opera : An Italian fine dining restaurant. Opera brings Key West original Italian cuisine. Enjoy romantic setting and exquisite Food. 613 Duval Street Tel # 295 2705

Santiago’s Bodega : With its chic, jazzy and very contemporary look, Santiago's Bodega lies in Bahama Village, a historic neighborhood. You will find hot and cold tapas from $4 to $10.
